Herons Tower, a prominent structure in London, recently underwent a comprehensive flooring refit for both the main and fire escape stairs. The project required over 2800m of stair nosings for the two staircases, which have over 50 floors on each.
Given the scale of the project and the diverse flooring requirements for the two staircases, meticulous planning and execution were crucial. The selection of appropriate stair nosings was a critical decision to ensure both aesthetic appeal and safety compliance.
NSL16, NSL20, and NHD24, all with black inserts, were specified for this project, these products were selected to meet the unique demands of the carpeted and safety flooring staircases.
The installation of the specified stair nosings has not only rejuvenated the aesthetic appeal of the staircases but has also significantly enhanced safety for the traffic within Herons Tower. The successful completion of this project stands as a testament to the collaborative efforts of all involved parties.
This case study highlights the importance of precision, collaboration, and product selection in delivering exceptional results for complex flooring refurbishment projects.
A special mention goes out to both the contractor, Finishing Touch, Epsom, whose expertise and precision were instrumental in the successful implementation of the project, and the distributor TradeChoice Chessington who played a vital role in ensuring the timely and efficient supply of the required materials.
